Donny Jones is one of the most amazing people I've ever been fortunate enough to know. He has been my best friend for over 20 years. We grew up together, went to school together, played tennis together, made music together, and during my college years we lived together for a while.
Last summer Donny was diagnosed with ALS. ALS (or Lou Gehrig’s disease) is a rare neurological disease that progressively causes the muscles producing voluntary movements (like chewing, walking, and talking) to shut-down. There is no cure for ALS. Most people with ALS die from respiratory failure, usually within 3 to 5 years from when the symptoms first appear.
